Ruben Garmyn - Broker / Owner

Ruben has been serving the real estate needs of Central Oregon since 1994. He started with Coldwell Banker, after which he became the Top Producer with Century 21 and RE/MAX.

Ruben brings to real estate his knowledge in architecture, which he studied in Belgium, and his extensive experience in marketing. Ruben opened, owned and operated 3 successful businesses including 2 restaurants.

Ruben joined the RE/MAX system in 1998. In his second year he became a member of the RE/MAX "Platinum Club", the top 1% agents in the nation. On January 1, 2002 he opened his own office with Jim; Prudential High Desert Realty. Ruben looks forward to another BANNER YEAR.

Ruben is also a broker / owner and a member Accredited Buyer Specialist, Graduate of the Real Estate Institute, Certified Residential Specialist, and an e-PRO Internet Professional.

Jim Birtola - Broker / Owner

A native of California, Jim moved to Central Oregon in 1990 for a career change. Jim worked in the "fast lane" of Silicon Valley for 13 years as a Software Engineer and Engineering Manager. These skills have kept Jim on the leading edge of the new Real Estate technology trends and supplied him with the priceless people skills needed in today's Real Estate arena! As a home owner since 1990 in Central Oregon, Jim has been involved with community activities including Sunriver Area Chamber Director and Rotary President for 2001-2002 term.

Jim is ranked in the top 1% of all brokers nationally. He holds the two prestigious designations of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI).

Jim's hobbies include Martial Arts (Jim is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do), music, skiing, boating/fishing and marine aquariums.

Ruben and Jim are both CRS holders. A CRS certification is the equivalent of a Master's degree involving experience and education in the practice of residential real estate. Lori Birtola - Office Manager / Owner

Lori moved to Central Oregon with Jim and their small children Jeremy and Justin. Central Oregon provided a safe and beautiful atmosphere for raising a family.

As the team "Office Manager", we rely on Lori daily!

In past years, Lori had developed skills as an Executive Secretary for various corporations, as well as accounting/bookkeeping skills for Mirrassou Winery.

Janet H. Breyer - Transaction Coordinator / Owner

Janet is a native of Chicago. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Southern California Law Center, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. Janet has practiced law since 1986 and has been in private practice in Bend since 1995.

Janet is a member of the American Business Women's Association. Janet has authored many law related articles, most recently co-authoring a chapter in Oregon Women and the Law, published by the Oregon Commission for Women. Janet is a past instructor at UCLA, Extension Division, and Loyola Marymount College, Los Angeles, and has lectured on legal issues to various professional and business organizations. Currently, Janet practices law on a part-time basis.

Janet also assists Ruben, her husband, in the real estate business. At Prudential High Desert Realty, Janet serves as the escrow coordinator.

Ken Mucha - Seller / Buyer Service Agent

Ken, a native of Phoenix, and his wife Jennifer recently moved to Central Oregon from Scottsdale Arizona. Because Central Oregon offers a variety of outdoor activities, and because his wife is originally from the area, Central Oregon was ideally suited for his relocation to a cooler climate.

Ken spent five years as a physical education teacher and coach in the Phoenix School District. In 1996 he began a career in sales were he learned to listen and meet clients needs through exceptional customer service. He joined Prudential High Desert Realty after moving to Central Oregon and is working with Team Birtola-Garmyn to achieve "Mucha Results."

Ken enjoys hiking and camping with his family and keeps fit by jogging and going to the gym.

Stan Seaman - Buyer Service Agent

Stan Seaman and his wife Melinda moved to beautiful Central Oregon two years ago from the San Francisco Bay area after vacationing in Bend and finding the perfect environment to enjoy life. Originally from New York, Stan has traveled throughout the world and fell in love with sunny Bend at first sight. Stan brings over 25 years experience as a Real Estate Broker and developer to Prudential High Desert Realty/Team Birtola~Garmyn. He has extensive experience in many areas of real estate sales, marketing and customer service and truly enjoys working to find clients their dream house and knows there's a perfect home for everyone, just waiting to be discovered. For fun, In their free time, Stan and Melinda and their three dogs, Bailey, Ali and Lola, enjoy Central Oregon's premier outdoor life. They delight in hiking Bend's many trails, fly fishing its mountain lakes and biking whenever they have the opportunity.

Jennifer Bernstein - Team Manager

Jennifer moved to beautiful Central Oregon from Northern California with her husband ~ Peter and their two children, Ian and Drue in 2001.

Jennifer brings 5 years experience in Administration and hands on customer Service to Team Birtola~Garmyn. Jennifer first joined the team a year ago as the buyer broker assistant following up on customer requests and searches. Today she now extends her talents to assist as the listing coordinator and is dedicated to assisting team with the highest quality and standards in Customer Service.

Mandy Good - Buyer Specialist

We here at Prudential High Desert Realty/Team Birtola~Garmyn are proud to have Mandy Good on board as a Buyer Specialist as she is self motivated and energetic when it comes to her clients and her work !!
Mandy was raised in Redmond, Oregon and truly loves Central Oregon. After many moving adventures to cities as far away as Kansas City and as hot as Las Vegas, Mandy returned home to what she considers a desirable climate and a place where she has wonderful family. When she returned to Central Oregon she began looking toward her future and became a licensed Broker. Mandy joins team Birtola-Garmyn with a healthy desire to always be learning to be the best that she can be in the business of Real Estate, and believes knowledge is power. Mandy’s spare time is spent with her American Bulldog Macy and her Chihuahua Dion.  Mandy’s career goals include being caring, informative and an involved broker that does not lose sight of her clients needs.

Laura Shatel- Buyer Specialist

Laura and her twins, Candice, Joshua, and her youngest Christopher (and her cat "Roy" too!), moved to beautiful Central Oregon from San Jose, California for a "quality of life" change. The beautiful Cascade mountain range and the clean sunny atmosphere were just a couple of the reasons for the big move! After 15 years of extensive customer service working for the US Postal Service, she decided that Prudential & Team Birtola~Garmyn was a great "fit" working as a Buyer Specialist. We agree … with her big smile and cheery disposition – Laura is dedicated to her Buyers! She will listen hard to all your needs and concerns to make sure you have found a place you can call home !!
